Writing style: Doerr's writing style is beautiful and poetic. He uses vivid imagery and a masterful use of language that creates a powerful emotional impact that resonates with readers long after the story has ended.

Pros and cons: The book is beautiful, and each chapter brings the reader into a new world. The imagery that flows through the book helps the reader travel in time. However, the pace of the book is slow, the structure is non-linear, there is some depressing subject matter, and it is a lengthy novel at over 500 pages.

This book was disturbing but a great read. It shows how far mothers will go to prove their love. The beginning of the book was hard and confusing; however, it evened out and became really good. I would recommend this book to any thriller fan.
